In our interview, Cody talked about his next project, his role in Hannah Montana, acting and more. Check out his answers to our questions below!
Hey, Cody! How are you nowadays?
“I’m doing well, and appreciate all the fans that support me!”
We heard that you just finished wrapping Sharknado 4, in which you play the role of Matt. Could you tell us about your character?
“I play Matt Shepard in “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.” Matt is the son of Fin Shepard (played by Ian Ziering). Matt’s an Air Force pilot who comes home from war overseas and helps protect his family against danger.”
What can the fans expect in the movie?
“Lots of action, comedy and romance.”
How was it shooting the film?
“It was intense, imaginative and so much fun. I’m excited for people to see me now in new roles that still give some familiar flavour to those I’ve done throughout my early adult life.”
You also played Jake Ryan, Miley’s big love in Hannah Montana, and it’s already the ten-year anniversary of the series. How do you feel about it?
“It’s wild that it’s been ten years since the franchise began. Being a part of “Hannah Montana” has been rewarding and playing Miley’s love interest was super fun!”
What was your favourite part about being in the series?
“My friendship with the cast. We grew up together and had a lot of laughs on set. Inspiring fans of the show and sending love back to them is awesome too!”
What are your thoughts on Jiley after ten long years?
“Hahaha, I think that they were a cute couple but when two people in the entertainment industry date, it can be very tough.”
We’ve seen the way you have improved at acting a lot since then. How do you think you have improved the most?
“The more life experience you have, the more you have to draw from in your work. I rededicated myself to my acting career in 2014 after taking some time off. I continue to mature, and I believe that translates into my work both on screen and off. “
You seem to be a calm person. Do you have a motto of how you live your life – or is it just yoga that makes this?
“I feel that my life has been a series of gifts, one after another and I’m grateful to receive and share so much love. I feel at peace to know that I create my reality and hope to inspire my fans to do the same.”
You’re a talented and handsome young man. We can state that you’re successful in your work, but what about love?
“Thanks. I love to the fullest those who I choose to be with. It’s a smaller group of folks for sure, but I like it that way.”
How did the death of your brother Chad influence your life and your career?
“It made me become more focused and grateful in my own life.”
You were only five years old when you got your debut acting role in “Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack”. What do you remember about your very first day on set?
“I enjoyed working on the film, I got to be with my brother. Country singer Clint Black brought me candy on Halloween, and I learned how to skip rocks with him. My on-set mom Lisa Hartman-Black was very sweet, and it was a good first experience.”
The first movie you starred in was Hoot, where you played with several other noted actors. What was it like to play with Logan Lerman and Brie Larson? How would you describe your relationship with them?
“Logan and I would joke around a lot and play games. Brie and I had a lot of fun playing the guitar and video games and having dinner with our moms. We went through Hurricane Katrina together which was an interesting experience!”
We do know that you like yoga, sports, travelling and playing the guitar, but what do you most like to do in your free time – other than these?
“I like to play ping pong, Mario Kart, sing, rap, and lift weights.”
