Matt Barnes has been hit with the potential of a restraining order after being accused of mistreating the older children of his girlfriend, Anansa Sims. The girlfriend of Anansa’s ex-husband, David Patterson, allegedly filed the petition with the courts.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast,
“Melisa Andino filed a restraining order against the basketball player asking for protection from him for herself, her fiance (NFL star David Patterson), and his three children. It should be noted, the three kids are with Matt’s current girlfriend, Anansa Sims, from their previous relationship.
In the filing, Andino explains that the two families are engaged in co-parenting the children, but feels they are not in a good place while staying with Barnes. Plus, she is accusing him of harassing them in group text messages.”
Anansa Sims and David Patterson were married for seven years before divorcing in 2017. The former couple welcomed three children – Ava, David, and Dean – during the marriage. Anansa and Matt welcomed a son named Ashton in 2018. The youngster made Barnes a father for the third time as Matt also has two sons – Carter and Isaiah – with his ex-wife, Gloria Govan.
It was nearly a year ago that Matt’s ex scrutinized Anansa for posting pictures of her sons on social media. “I’ve asked before to leave MY kids out of your FALSE narrative,” Gloria wrote to Anansa.
“Your obsession with MY kids is awkward and crazy,” Govan added. “I’ve tolerated it long enough,” she continued. “Your whole super mommy, stepmom, blended family bullsh*t is hilarious. My kids tolerate you because I raised them well. But don’t get things twisted; they don’t f*ck with you or your kids!”
David Patterson’s girlfriend accused Matt of being aggressive with the children as well as sending intimidating text messages her way. “There are times that one of the children has started to tell me or my fiance something that happened at Matt’s house. and another child will say, ‘Shh…don’t talk about that,’” Medina shared in her petition.
“This makes me fear that they are being threatened not to tell us what goes on at Matt’s home,” David Patterson’s fiancee continued. “There are videos on social media of him cursing at the kids and pushing them,” the petition read.
A judge will hear each side of the case on November 4, 2022.
